Horns as a Symbol of Connection with Nature

In the past masks with animal horns were used in various ceremonies and rituals. They symbolized the strength of animals and their connection to spiritual forces. These traditions survived and made their way into modern masquerade balls. Horned animals such as deer bulls goats or rams have long been considered symbols of strength authority and resilience. The bull mask represents a bull or ox which were important symbols of strength fertility and protection in traditional folk culture. This motif is also linked to pagan roots where horned animals played a significant role in rituals connected to natural cycles. Its noisy behavior and striking appearance were part of a magical ritual to drive away evil forces.

This animal is often depicted as a mask with horns a fur coat and a large mouth. It has a playful character jumping dancing and playfully scaring people in parades.
